3. I Am Not My Body

4. I believe I am not my body.

5. When she was born, her left arm was a short stub with a teeny hand and only three fingers, at first this bothered her, until she realized that her body doesn't determine who she is as a person, her heart, soul, and mind determines who she is. Another thing she realized is that her body is only a vehicle for everything she truely is inside.

6. My favorite passage from Lisa Sandin's this i believe essay is when she wrote, "I am my words, my ideas and my actions. I am filled with love, humor, ambition and intelligence. This I believe: I am your fellow human being and, like you, I am so much more than a body."
